Umbrella Sky Installation at Village Royal – Art Photography in Paris
A rainbow suspended in the Parisian sky: the Umbrella Sky installation by Patricia Cunha transforms Village Royal into a colorful and poetic artwork. Discover my photographs of this enchanting moment in the heart of the city.
Village Royal, an elegant passage in the heart of Paris, was adorned in April 2019 with a spectacular and colorful installation: hundreds of suspended multicolored umbrellas, forming a vibrant overhead canopy that turned the space into an open-air artwork.
Created by Portuguese artist Patricia Cunha, the installation titled Umbrella Sky plays with natural light and architectural perspectives. The contrast between the vivid umbrella colors and the surrounding elegant buildings enhances the sense of surprise and wonder.
The interplay of shadows, background blur, and graphic compositions enhances the overall poetry of the scene. The ordered accumulation of umbrellas creates a strong visual grid while allowing light and glances to pass through. A temporary work that energizes the urban setting and invites passersby to pause and contemplate in the city center.
