Sebastien Desnoulez, fine art and architectural photographer in Paris

Sebastien Desnoulez is a fine art and architectural photographer based in Paris. His work explores a constant tension between rigorous composition and visual instability, between graphic lines, light, blur, movement and intentional accidents.

Coming from the worlds of press photography, motorsport and professional photographic assignments, he builds his images directly at the moment of shooting, with particular attention to framing, visual masses, contrasts and the balance of forms.

Composing between
geometry,
blur
and light

His work develops around two complementary visual languages. On one side, geometric, pared-down compositions, sometimes almost cold, where architecture, lines and light structure the image. On the other, freer photographs, shaped by blur, multiple exposure, accidental light or visual shifts.

In both approaches, composition comes first. Even when an image appears fragile, unstable or close to organised chaos, it is conceived and framed at the moment of shooting. Any later cropping is limited to strengthening an image that was already built in camera, by moving to a square, 4/5 or panoramic format.

This approach is expressed through architectural photography, landscapes, travel photography and personal series. Whether photographing a contemporary façade, a city, a coastline, a botanical detail or a more abstract scene, Sebastien Desnoulez is less interested in simple documentation than in building a strong, readable and inhabited image.

Sebastien Desnoulez is represented by the online gallery Une image pour rêver, which offers a selection of his limited-edition fine art prints, limited to 12 copies, numbered, signed and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

These photographs are intended for art lovers, collectors and interior decoration projects for homes, offices, hotels or restaurants.

His personal series explore different visual territories: the graphic rigour of Darkchitecture, the recomposed landscapes of Glitches, film experiments with the Holga, as well as explorations of blur, accidental light and visual instability.

Beyond photographs and fine art prints, this website is also a space for sharing experience. Sebastien Desnoulez publishes technical articles about equipment he uses or has genuinely used, lenses, camera bodies, digitising methods, workflow, architectural photography, long exposure and image processing.

These field reports are based on real-world practice, with no advertising, no affiliate links and no partnerships with brands. Their purpose is to show, through images made in real conditions, what a tool can actually produce.
