Biography

Sebastien Desnoulez discovered photography at the age of 18 during his first trip to the United States.

He studied at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas, before starting a career as a photojournalist with a press agency.

He went on to cover major motorsport events, Formula 1, Indycar, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, refining his eye for movement, speed, and composition.

Sebastien Desnoulez builds his photographic language around oppositions and composition: blur and sharpness, motion and stillness, shadow and light, mineral and vegetal. His images may follow an “academic” rigor, with precise framing and geometric alignments, or break free from it when the subject and the light call for something else, toward a more open, pared-down composition that remains just as graphic.

In his work, style is not a mold: it emerges each time from the key element within the image, a gesture, a line, a material, a tension in the light. This is the thread he claims and continues to pursue, refusing to be confined to a repetitive signature: each photograph is the synthesis of a place, a moment, and a light.

His work finds a strong expression in architectural photography and travel photography, where simplicity enters into dialogue with structure and light. Within this approach, he develops a fine art photography vision through his Darkchitecture and Glitches series.

Sebastien Desnoulez presents his limited edition fine art prints on the online gallery Une image pour rêver.
