Pop Air – An Exhibition Inflated with Art and Color

August 2022, at the Grande Halle de La Villette, Paris. The Pop Air exhibition transformed this vast space into a true artistic playground. Centered around the theme of the balloon, this immersive and playful installation celebrated color, volume, and sensory experience.

From suspended balloons to giant inflatable structures, mirror walls, and even a ball pit, each room offered a dive into a dreamlike world where interaction with the audience was part of the art itself.

For a photographer, the challenge was twofold: capturing the changing light of the installations and seizing the moments of play and wonder experienced by the visitors. I alternated between wide shots to convey the scale of the artworks and more intimate scenes to illustrate the joyful appropriation of the installations by the public.

Between flotation, immersion, and playful self-staging, Pop Air explores our relationship with the body, space, and dreams.

A poetic, whimsical, and nostalgic escape — the perfect moment to break away from reality… and to explore, through photography, the dialogues between art, inflatable architecture, and human behavior.
