Tour D2 and Boulevard Circulaire – Long Exposure at La Défense
An architectural and luminous composition in the heart of La Défense. This long-exposure shot of Tour D2 reveals the contrast between the verticality of skyscrapers and the flowing red light trails of the boulevard circulaire at dusk.
Tour D2 and Boulevard Circulaire at La Défense – Long Exposure Photography
Captured at twilight, this image of La Défense highlights Tour D2 at the center of the frame—recognizable by its egg-shaped form and external crisscrossing steel exoskeleton. It stands out gracefully among the surrounding glass towers, forming a dense and striking architectural alignment.
Thanks to a long exposure, the taillights of vehicles along the boulevard appear as red light trails, emphasizing the curves of the road and adding motion to the otherwise static cityscape. This dynamic contrasts with the stability of the buildings, creating a balance between the vertical stillness of the towers and the horizontal flow of traffic.
The reflections of the setting sky and glowing office lights on the building facades enrich the atmosphere. The fading natural light mingles with the emerging signs of the city at night, capturing a suspended moment between day and darkness.
Through this composition, I aimed to capture not only the verticality and complexity of the business district, but also the human and luminous pulse that animates its edges.
